Description | In spring 2006, 14 Japanese students led by instructors visited the Wuhan University in China. During this time we gathered information concerning a study tour to Japan. About hundred Chinese students submitted replies to our questionnaire. This study will show how the International Center tried to implement the results of this survey in planning and conducting a study tour to Japan for students from the Wuhan University in October 2007.
I will concentrate on the following three points. 1. How to deal with students, who are already learning Japanese and know something about Japanese culture or are deeply interested in Japan. 2. The use of the 22nd National Culture Festival, which was held at the same time in the Tokushima Prefecture, as an excellent opportunity to experience high-level cultural activities. 3. Make sure that the study tour does not degenerate into a mere sight-seeing by providing opportunities for the students to meet as many people as possible inside and outside the university. All Chinese students kept daily records during their visit. This study will analyze and discuss these diaries together with comments and impressions given by the participants during their stay with special concentration on all activities which included also Japanese students. On this basis this study tries to find clues about the present state of interchange between uiversities and how to cooperate more effectively in the future. |
