Description
The situation surrounding basic research at Medical schools in the United States is very differentfrom that of Japan. From the outcome, such as two Nobel prizes awarded to faculty of StanfordUniversity School of Medicine in 2006, we can see that basic research in the US has producedmany incredible achievements, and the system that supports researchers in US should be organizedwell and should be functioning very effectively. However, simply importing such systemfrom the US to Japan without considering many factors in the background surrounding the systemmay be ineffective. To reenergize basic research at medical schools in our country, we need tofind problems specific to our case one by one and to examine which part we can change or fix.
