Description | Effect of simple alkyl alcohol on radical polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm)
in toluene at low temperatures was investigated. We succeeded in inducing syndiotactic-specificity and accelerating polymerization reaction at the same time by adding simple alkyl alcohols into NIPAAm polymerization. Furthermore, effect of chain transfer agent on NIPAAm polymerization at low temperatures was also examined. Living nature was observed with use of LED as UV light source even for the low-temperature radical polymerization. |
