Description
Recently the infection’s rate of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) in Japanese younger generation has increased rapidly. I thought one of some causes existed on their sense about STD. In the present study, to know any factors and problems, I examined the sense about STD in younger generation. I conducted some questionnaires of 721 students (227 boys and 493 girls, 12-20 years old) on their 1) recognition of STD 2) knowledge of STD 3) thinking of relation between themselves with STD 4) analysis of the present condition. Moreover, I tried to conduct the same questionnaires of their teachers and parents to know their environment. In conclusion, a lot of students received the knowledge on STD from school. The knowledge about STD in younger generation was partial and inadequate. It is necessary that they have to recognize STD as the urgent and important problem for themselves. Moreover, their teachers and parents, who have to give the enough and right education to younger generation, also lack the sense that STD is a big problem. I suggest that the public, school and parents have to coordinately educate younger generation about the actual and exact knowledge on sex and STD in haste.
