Description
This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first reported case in Japan using eltrombopag for ITP that developed during palliative care for multiple bone metastases of renal cancer. Platelets decreased to 30,000 while tramadol and etodolac were prescribed as palliative care for multiple bone metastases. PSL 0.5 mg/kg was started, but no improvement was observed, and eltrombopag 12.5 mg/day was started, and platelets normalized. During the 8 months when the patientʼs condition deteriorated and oral administration was not possible, there were no noteworthy side effects, and the drug was able to be continued.
