テニュアトラックにおけるメンタリングの実践状況とニーズ : 若手教員の視点から

我が国において新しい形の養成を目的に導入が進んでいるテニュアトラック（TT）では，教員を研究面で支援するメンター教員が配置されている。本稿では，岡山大学の2つのTTにおけるメンタリングの実践状況および公式メンタリング・プログラム（MP）の必要性について，テニュアトラックの教員を対象に実施したアンケートおよび意見交換で収集したデータを基に報告する。研究面での関係をメンター教員との間で持っていたTT教員は，メンター教員との距離感の持ち方に不安を持ち，独立性の維持に苦心していた。特に研究歴が長い者を中心に研究上のメンタリングのニーズは感じていなかったが，本格的に仕組みさえ整えればメンター教員から学ぶことは多いと考えていた。

In Japan, many universities have recently introduced the tenure-track, in which assistant professors are assigned to a mentor. Based on data from survey and group interviews, this paper reports perceptions of assistant professors in two tenure-tracks at Okayama University with regard to their experiences of having a formal mentor and their need for a formal mentoring program. The assistant professors, who either collaborated with or were supported by their mentors, were concerned about maintaining their independence from the mentor, whose role and responsibilities were not clearly defined. The assistant professors generally considered it desirable to implement a well-designed mentoring program but did not identify that as a need for themselves, especially those who were already established as researchers.
