抄録 | The purpose of this study was to investigate effects and efficacy of classroom-based depression prevention program focused on promoting expression of positive self-statement. The participants in this study were elementary school third graders. A waiting list control design was used, in which the children were assigned either to intervention group (n =32) or waiting list control group (n =65). As result, no significant effect was seen between two groups. On the other hand, as a result of examination in depressed high group and low group, it was suggested that the program developed in this study may be effective for children exhibiting a high depression tendency. Finally, future tasks in earlier depression-preventive intervention for children were discussed.
