抄録 | In plastic surgery, acute wounds are one of the areas of expertise. In the diagnosis of wounds, it is important to determine whether or not there is any follicular tissue remaining in the wound. Shallow abrasions heal within a week or two as the epithelialization from the pores inside and around the wound. However, for wounds that do not have any follicular tissue, granulation tissue needs to be formed in the wound and epidermis can only be formed from the periphery of the wound, so healing takes time. In the treatment of wounds, foreign body should be thoroughly removed under local anesthesia because it can cause traumatic tattooing. Wound dressings should be used to maintain a moist environment on the wound surface, as scabs can delay the epithelialization. For wounds that reach the subcutaneous tissue (cuts, contusions, etc.), skin sutures are performed to minimize scarring.
